Monday through Friday during business hours, Library patrons may park in the back of ALU (Evacuation Road) in the designated Library Patron Parking spaces only. Library patrons may park in any ALU parking lot after 5 pm Monday through Friday and on weekends.
Paws to Read - Summer Reading Program
The Family and MWR Fort Lee Community Library will kick off its annual summer reading program on July 1. Join us on July 1, 10:30 – 11:30 a.m., at the Lee Playhouse for a special summer reading program kickoff, “FREE Magic Show”! Then make sure to join us each Tuesday, July 8 – 29, 10:30 – 11:30 am in the Community Library, for our “Paws to Read Story and Craft Hour” (pre-registration is required). Paws to Read summer reading program is open to children, teens and adults. Pick up a reading log and book bag at the circulation desk. Register to earn incentives for your summer reading. This is a FREE program. Children 15 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to participate in Community Library activities. Library resources orientation for Home Schoolers
The Family and MWR Fort Lee Community Library is hosting a monthly library resources orientation for home schoolers every first Thursday of the month, 9 - 10 a.m.! It will take place on the first Thursday of each month starting in November. Discover library resources that will supports your children's education. Learn how to use the catalog and how resources are arranged using the Dewey System and other classification systems. Registration is open up until the day before orientation. This is a free event. Preschool Story Hour
The Family and MWR Fort Lee Community Library is hosting Preschool Story Hour for children (Ages 0 - 5 years old) Wednesdays 10:30 - 11:30 am. Read 2 Rover!
The Family and MWR Fort Lee Community Library invites you to join us every third Monday of the month, 5 – 6 pm for our Read 2 Rover hour with Caring Canines of Richmond. Caring Canines is a volunteer therapy dog group that encourages children’s literacy while interacting with certified therapy dogs. This activity is open to children 0 to 12 years of age. Young Adults & Tweens! It's Raining Books!
The Family and MWR Fort Lee Community Library welcomes all young adults and tweens to check out 3,000 new book selections for young adults and tweens. Come and check out selections such as Catching Fire (Suzanne Collins), Shiver (Maggie Stiefvater), If I Stay (Gayle Forman), The Twilight Saga Collection (Stephenie Meyer) and much more! The Fort Lee Community Library also carries a wide variety of fiction, non-fiction and biography selections.
