Library Parking:

Monday through Friday during business hours, Library patrons may park in designated Library Patron Parking spaces in the student lot off Jessup or in the back of ALU (Evacuation Road). Library patrons may park in any ALU parking lot after 5 pm Monday through Friday and on weekends.

FREE Magic Show Kicks Off Summer Reading Program

Family and MWR Fort Lee Community Library and Rob Wescott Productions kicks off its summer reading program, "Read to the Rhythm," with a special Magic Show on June 23. The magic show stars Prince Charming, the beautiful magical live bunny rabbit! Join us, 10:30 – 11:15 a.m. at the Lee Playhouse. There will be magic, puppetry and audience participation. This event is FREE and open to kids of all ages; children, teens and adults. Children 15 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For more details, call (804) 765-8095.


Reading to the Rhythm - Summer Reading Program

The Family and MWR Fort Lee Community Library will kick off its annual summer reading program on June 23. Join us on June 23, 10:30 – 11:15 a.m., at the Lee Playhouse for a special summer reading program kickoff, “FREE Magic Show”! Then make sure to join us each Tuesday and Wednesday, June 30 – July 21, 10:30 – 11:30 am in the Community Library, for our “Read to the Rhythm Story and Craft Hour” (pre-registration is required). Read to the Rhythm summer reading program is open to children, teens and adults. Pick up a reading log and book bag at the circulation desk. Register to earn incentives for your summer reading. This is a FREE program. Children 15 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to participate in Community Library activities. Preschool Story Hour

The Family and MWR Fort Lee Community Library hosts a Preschool Story Hour with crafts for children (Ages 0 - 5 years old) Wednesdays 10:30 - 11:30 am.  Pre-registration is required, as there is limited space available. Register in person or call the library. This is a free event.  Children must be accompanied by parent or guardian.  For more details, call (804) 765-8095.


Read 2 Rover!

SPECIAL NOTICE: The Read 2 Rover program is temporarily suspended; we hope to resume in the fall. 
The Family and MWR Fort Lee Community Library invites you to join us every third Tuesday of the month, 5 – 6 pm for our Read 2 Rover hour with Caring Canines of Richmond. Caring Canines is a volunteer therapy dog group that encourages children’s literacy while interacting with certified therapy dogs. This activity, while designed for children 0 to 12 years of age, is open to everyone.  All ages are encouraged to come and pet a dog!  This is a free program, there is no need to pre-register.  Children 15 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.  For more details, call (804) 765-8095.


Children, Tweens & Young Adults! 

New books are always available at the Library. The collections of fiction, non-fiction, and biography are updated monthly. While you’re searching for books, take a minute to check out some of the latest DVD releases—educational and feature films are available. Patrons 15 years old and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
